A Church That Refused to Stop Serving

When the earthquake hit, Pastor Miguel's small congregation lost its meeting hall within hours. But by the next morning, the church had already become something else entirely: a shelter, a food distribution point, and a gathering place for families who had lost everything.

“We didn’t have a building anymore, but we still had each other,” Miguel said. “That’s when I understood what the church really is.”

Since then, volunteers connected through Fhaith have helped the congregation secure temporary shelter materials, prepare meals for over 200 families, and begin rebuilding plans for a permanent space. Every donation through the Adopt a Church program goes directly toward moments like these, churches choosing to serve even when they have nothing left to give.

If you’d like to help a congregation like Miguel’s continue this work, you can support the Adopt a Church initiative today.
